Andrea Sinclair
Finding a harmonious balance
Andrea works with her clients to teach them the skills necessary to maintain a harmonious balance in their homes and offices – and that often means finding the balance between a small amount of time and interest on one side vs. the need and pressure to maintain efficient systems and lifestyles on the other side.
To get past that time constraint, Andrea focuses on finding customized processes and systems that are a natural fit with each client. So while she certainly deals with things, she always starts with people.
“People should feel comfortable with what we’re doing. It’s all about finding a balance, which is different for each person.”
Valued for her patience and skills
Andrea is extremely talented at finding sustainable solutions to piles and messes. Her clients praise her patience, her listening skills, and her ability to work with them at a pace and in a way that’s rewarding.
She is devoted to her profession, having recently served on the board of the Seattle Area Chapter of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), and is that group’s 2009 “Get Organized Month” committee chair. Andrea is a firm believer in continuing education, and researching new products and collecting resources for her clients are also part of her regular routine.
Residential and small business customers make up the bulk of her clientele, although she’s also worked with school teachers in their classrooms, and with people in other unique situations. And while many clients need her just once or twice to help them get going, she understands why other clients choose to hire her for regularly-scheduled help with problem areas in their homes or businesses.
Life is about transitions
Many of her clients are in transition, and the messier side of life has caught up with them. “I understand things happen. Life isn’t perfect, nor is it always clean and tidy,” Andrea explains. These clients haven’t been disorganized all their lives, but something has happened: a death in the family, a new baby or a job change. They remember what it was like when their houses didn’t stress them out, and they want to get back to that. Business clients often call her because the company grew or an individual’s duties increased, and the systems they previously used just can’t handle the additional load.
Not striving for perfection
“We’re all under so much pressure these days to do everything perfectly. I just want people’s environments to be comfortable.” This is her mission. And this is what she does, using the tools and tips and processes necessary to achieve a client’s goals. And whatever “comfortable” means to that person, that’s the level they work toward. With Andrea, it all starts with listening, and putting people first.
